Yup, you read it right. A HUGE £15 off the RRP price of boxes of Sonny Angels. This offer covers all the series in stock and applies only to what we have in stock at the moment so it’s a real ‘when it’s gone, it’s gone’ offer.
Sonny Angels are one of our top sellers and we can see why. They’re cute, fun and are always in demand. It seems there’s lots of collectors of these sweet dolls around the world so why not take up a new hobby? (hint, hint)
As if we’re not spoiling you enough, we’re also offering a fantastic, super-cheap postage deal. Free post on all orders in the UK when you add any full size box of sonny angels to your shopping cart and use coupon code “sonnyangel” (all one word).
Offer finishes Sunday 30th April so don’t delay. In the words of the great Pharrell Williams ‘it’s a gift that keeps on giving’ (although we prefer this song as it’s, well, Happpy!)
Happy new year! Ok we’re a leedle bit late with this one but better late than never.
We’ve had a wonderfully quiet and relaxing Christmas here at FKHQ but now we’re ready to take on 2014.
So what’s been happening around these parts? Well, we’ve got a super clearance sale on which is bursting with bargainous delights. Have a rummage and see what you can find.
We’ve also been busy creating a new children’s clothing range for summer. Tshirts, A-line dresses, leggings and pinafores are being pieced together and sewn up by our very own sewing elves (now Christmas is over they’re a bit short of work). My wonderful friend Jean will be doing the photo piccy snaps of them. They will hopefully be on the website by February.
In the meantime, enjoy these photos of tiny people inflating some raisins.
Here at Funky Kitsch we pride ourselves on our great customer service. So, to go that extra mile for our lovely customers, we’re now offering free shipping until 24th December. This is for UK orders only sadly. But we don’t want to leave our international customers out…oh no, no. To get a generous discount of £2.50 off international shipping simply enter the code cheappost at the checkout.
But that’s not all. We’ve just launched our free gift wrapping service. Simply add this option to your basket at no extra charge.
If you’re sending Christmas gifts presents to friends, then why not add one of our beautiful Christmas cards to your order? Send us an email with your wording, and we’ll take care of the rest!
Today has been so sunny and warm and I get the feeling it’s the last burst of summer before it all goes cold, damp, frosty and wet. We’ve made the most of it and gone blackberry picking.
We have a few farms nearby and along the hedgerows grow wild blackberries. We did well this time and managed to find a mighty haul. Not weighed it yet but I’ll guestimate a good 5lbs of them.
Aha! I hear you say. But what are you going to do with them? Well, that was predecided before we left. This year I’m making as many presents for Christmas as I can manage. With this in mind I’ll be making some rather splended blackberry vodka (or gin for those that partake) It’s very simple to make at home. I use the method that’s a firm favourite with my fellow Mumsnetters. Here it is if you’re not familiar:
1 litre of vodka, 600g blackberries and 300g sugar.
Put in a large jar and shake well. Shake every day for a month and then once a month for next two months.
Strain and bottle.
Eat the boozy blackberries with ice cream.
So, if you’d like to offer someone a lovely boozy present this year then you still have time to get going and have it ready for the big day.
With the surplus blackberries I’ll be making a clafoutis. If you’re asking yourself what on earth it is wellllll, it’s kind of a tart cum souffle cum custard. I think in it’s pure form it’s made with cherries but no one likes cherries in the house (apart from me). Anyway, I can tell you it’s delicious and freezable so you can cook in advance. Here is the recipe I got from Pinterest that works well for me.
And lastly, I’ve got another order of really, REALLY, funky fabric on it’s way from Finland. Disappointment is not an option.
Being ever the optimist, I’m sure that summer isn’t yet over. It can’t be. I need to get burnt and go lobster red at least once. But rainy days can be good days. Good days for sewing at least. I don’t feel as though I’m missing out on too much when I look through the office window and see it pouring down.
I’ve not had a huge amount of time to sew in the past few weeks. The school summer holidays have seriously cramped my style and I’m ticking the days off on the calendar to the 3rd September. In the meantime I haven’t been idle. We’ve had a huge delivery of some rather splendid, dare I say stupendous, fabrics from Sweden and Germany. We can’t get enough of those scandi fabrics here at Funky Kitsch! I’m preparing the autumn and winter clothing for the shop whilst keeping an eye out for some pretty impressive Christmas gifts to add to the stock. Keep a close eye out for new stock landing at the end of August. I wish I could reveal more but I’m sworn to secrecy. **cough** Blafre **cough**
The keen eyed amongst you may have spotted that our ever popular range of scandi knit fabrics have a new lower price. We’ve taken 10% ish off each fabric. This isn’t a fleeting special offer, oh no. We have permanently discounted them. We want to share the fabric love at an affordable price.
My Pinterest boards are groaning with nonsense really useful knitting and craft projects. There’s some lovely free sewing patterns that you might like, especially for going back to school, Halloween and Christmas. Make do and mend is definitely on the agenda for us this year. I’m firmly a believer that Christmas (or birthday) gifts that are handmade really are made with love (sweat, tears, hysterics, crying, gin etc). If you’re not already following me on Pinterest here’s the link to save you sifting through millions of pins. Am I good to you or am I good to you?
If you would like to catch up with me in real life, up close and personal, then you can find me at Levenshulme Market on Saturday 24th September. As usual there’s a plethora of all things bright and beautiful and, we’re having a MAHOOSIVE sale. Nothing to lose and everything to gain for you dear reader. If you can’t make it next Saturday I will be there each fourth Saturday of the month up until December when the final market of the year is being held on the evening of the 20th December. Christmas innit.
We’ve currently got loads of bargains in the summer sale. You’ll find great discounts across all ranges. Our stock really is selling very fast, especially the likes of Maileg, which you’ll find at a huge discount to other retailers.
I can’t believe we’re already ordering Summer 2014 stock. We’re still enjoying the sun and summer of 2013! But fashion and retailers wait for no one and are always well in front of the rest of us mere mortals.
Have a good mooch through our sales stuff and I am sure you’ll find something to catch your eye or dare I say, maybe a Christmas present or two?
Christmas is fast approaching and I’ve been extremely busy with orders both for the festive season and stock for our new shop. Of course it’s a poor excuse that I’ve not been blogging so much but in my defence, I’ve put it on my New Years resolutions list along with losing half my body weight, giving up chocolate and doing that parachute jump I’ve put off so many times.
Now that I have more space to work (which obviously means more places for my ever growing fabric stash), I’m finding that the range of clothing items has also grown. Not too much but I’ve been making some very cute scandinavian type hats, dribble bibs and blankets. All of which should be found online in the very near future.
Also, we have some new suppliers of funky children’s clothing onboard. Some scandinavian and some nearer to home. All will be revealed in the new year when they’ll be available.
Keep your eyes peeled for new fabric landing from Sweden, Germany and Finland in the new year. Znok, Liandlo and Lillestoff (our year round faves), all have new funky fabrics in the pipeline and we’ve put our names down, our hands up in the air and asked our mum for a note so that we can bag the best ones before they all go!
You may also notice that we have special offers featured on our website which are frequently changing. We’ll also be holding a sale on lots of scrummy goodies after Christmas. My tip? Sign up to our newsletter and be the first in the queue.
If you haven’t already spotted our competition on our Facebook page then wing your way over there and get your name down (if your name isn’t down, you’re not coming in). Lovely goodies up for grabs. What you waiting for?!
