Happy new year! Ok we’re a leedle bit late with this one but better late than never.
We’ve had a wonderfully quiet and relaxing Christmas here at FKHQ but now we’re ready to take on 2014.
So what’s been happening around these parts? Well, we’ve got a super clearance sale on which is bursting with bargainous delights. Have a rummage and see what you can find.
We’ve also been busy creating a new children’s clothing range for summer. Tshirts, A-line dresses, leggings and pinafores are being pieced together and sewn up by our very own sewing elves (now Christmas is over they’re a bit short of work). My wonderful friend Jean will be doing the photo piccy snaps of them. They will hopefully be on the website by February.
In the meantime, enjoy these photos of tiny people inflating some raisins.
To make room for all the new stock that’s winging it’s way to us, we’re giving the you the opportunity to bag yourself a bargain in our clearance department. Clothing, accessories, toys and fabric are all included.
Can this day get any better you may ask yourself? Well no. We hear on the grapevine that the cult tv series from the 1970s, The Clangers, is being resurrected and will be on our screens in 2015 thanks to CBBC. I can feel a batch of blue string soup being made. In the meantime, you can read all about it here.
Our summer dresses are now touring the South of France.
We have the bambi dress on the left which is now out of stock sadly and on the right is the sweet days dress.
We think every day should be a sweet day – we won’t tell your dentist as long as you brush twice a day.
The dress ia also available in 5 other materials – but don’t be shy – if you are really desperate for us to make you a bespoke dress then go ahead and check out the other jersey fabrics available. Just contact us – we are most obliging!
Some of the eagle eyed amongst you will already know that we’ve acquired new premises for our actual physical shop. Yep, a real one with shelves and real people and everything.
After a lick of paint last week (eye popping raspberry) and some funky decals to go on the walls, we’re almost ready to wow the good people of Cheshire (darling) with our take on funky wares for the small people. It’s all been positive so far (from fellow traders and passing customers) both with comments on the design of the shop and the fact we’ll be doing something a bit different.
If you are passing by Sale or Altrincham then swing by and say hello. You can find us at Traders Outlet on Tatton Road, Sale (by the Town Hall). We officially open to trade on Monday 12th November.
We’ve been busy beavering away on the first line of clothing. It’s nearly ready and will be online for perusal this coming weekend (subject to weather and temperamental models).
Whilst ensconsed in our very own little sweatshop of 2 (me and Dawn), I’ve found that music gets me through the day. I was thinking that when I do my first tute, it will be entitled ‘Sew Along with the Backstreet Boys’. I know Dawn will cry when she sees that – and not with laughter.
So, brand FK is ready to hit you guys between the eyes. The question is; are you ready?
The new dresses are now in production. I’ll be putting pics up as the week goes on with different designs. The first of the collection is the ‘Iris’ dress. It’s available in this design in any of the 100% cotton designs we have in stock.
I doubt Cat Stevens was referring to his stash of fabric when he wrote that song. Shame really as it so easily fits.
Anyhoo, this week has been a very exciting one and has seen the first orders leave Funky Kitsch HQ. It’s also been a hectic one with the second of the large orders landing. On top of which, we’ll be putting our Halloween and Christmas orders in next week. Yep, you read it right; still March and I’m talking about Christmas!
Amidst all the unpacking of fabric excitement, the gnomes have landed. Now, as a customer myself, I tried in vain to source this fabric without luck. It’s only as a wholesaler I was able to get my hands on it and boy oh boy, the wait was worth it. Half of the stock I have has already been sold. Who would have thought that gnomes could be so prized and sought after? READ MORE
