Yep, you read it right. It’s fermented herring day in Sweden. Fermented herring ia also known as Surströmming.
It’s a delicacy and a pungent one at that. Herring is put into brine and then canned where it ferments. Not one for the faint hearted, it is a Swedish dish that you either love or loath.
