Faye & Lou Cozio Rainbow Muslins
When I first saw these rainbow muslins it was love at first sight. Fun, bright, practical and with endless uses.
When I had my children I always had muslins around; for changing, as an insert for my cotton nappies, after bathing, as a burp cloth, wiping up sick/poo…you get the picture. I can say with hand on heart that they made my life so much easier.
Faye & Lou’s muslins are all of the above but in colours from the rainbow. Fun, groovy and great quality cotton that is not only pleasing to the eye, but will withstand wash after wash. What’s more they come in standard and extra large size. The larger size is brilliant for swaddling, as a blanket, as a cat net, as a sheet ad infinitum! I think after sliced bread these babies are the next best invention.
One of my regular customers in the shop commented on these saying she’d been using them for 11 months and the colours had not faded and they looked as good as new. She also mentioned that the cotton was fab quality and they will not lose their shape, unlike cheaper muslins.
So if you’re looking for a baby shower gift, an addition to your hospital bag or an essential bit of kit to add to your changing table, look no further.
The original size muslins come in packs of seven.
- Size – 60 cm x 60 cm
- 100% cotton
- Machine washable at 40c
The extra large muslins come in a range of boy and girl colours.
Size 90cm x 90cm.
Machine washable at 40c.

Happy New Year from Funky Kitsch!
We’d like to say a happy new year to all of our fabulous customers and a hello, bienvenue, wellkommen and bonjour to our new customers *big wave*
Keeping you in the loop of what has been happening at FKHQ, we’re moving units at Traders Outlet in Sale. We’ve already outgrown the one we have (after only 7 weeks!) so we’re putting castors on everything and settling in to our new place in the new year. There’s also going to be a huge overhaul of the website with more stock being added so that more will be available to buy online as well as offline in the physical store.
We’ll also be asking you, dear reader, to send in any suggestions of things you would like to see in the shop and in particular, what items you would like tos see being made up out of our funky fabrics.
Of course it goes without saying that New Year brings new stock and boy, we have some corkers for you. Lots of Swedish organic fabrics that are either GOTS or OEKOTEX certified. Many of you will be thrilled to learn that the Summer fabric from Znok will be featuring and we will be taking pre-orders on this as there were many disappointed customers when we ran out of it. It will be landing during January and will be availabe in half metres as well as fully metres. £9.95 and £19.89 respectively. You may also love to know that this time it’s organic. Woop! Drop me an email if you would like to reserve this fabric as it sells out FAST!
There have been many highlights this year business wise and we’re looking forward to expanding even further in 2013. Of course we couldn’t do it without you guys out there. On that note, we’d like to wish a very happy new year to you and yours.
See you on the flip flop!

Some of the eagle eyed amongst you will already know that we’ve acquired new premises for our actual physical shop. Yep, a real one with shelves and real people and everything.
After a lick of paint last week (eye popping raspberry) and some funky decals to go on the walls, we’re almost ready to wow the good people of Cheshire (darling) with our take on funky wares for the small people. It’s all been positive so far (from fellow traders and passing customers) both with comments on the design of the shop and the fact we’ll be doing something a bit different.
If you are passing by Sale or Altrincham then swing by and say hello. You can find us at Traders Outlet on Tatton Road, Sale (by the Town Hall). We officially open to trade on Monday 12th November.
Oh, and this is our guard dog, Rufus. Woof!
All Kinds of Everything…
…remind me of something but nothing in particular.
<ahem>
So, this week sees lots of new fabrics for autumn/winter and in particular, the festive period in between.
Never ones to disappoint, Znok has thrown some excellent ones our way. And who are we to refuse? Resistence is futile. Top of the list and one with lots of pre-orders to fulfill, is ‘Vinter’ or to use the vernacular, Winter. Those Scandinavians know how to confuse me – it’s very easy, honestly.
Next up is ‘Crowded Jungle’ or as they say in Sweden, ‘Crowded Jungle’. In case you haven’t noticed I don’t have the Swedish version. Anyhoo, both of these fabrics are the usual mahoosive 150cm wide. Both Oekotex certified and both are soft, strong and very, very long. Oh wait…I’m getting confused. Both are made of the usual high quality organic cotton that we have come to know and love from Znok.
Our new(ish) supplier is Liandlo and I think you’ll agree that these too hit the spot with their jolly scenes of gnomes, squirrels, trees and all the usual little creatures that normally feature.
‘Landet, lilla snigel’ also features snails and translates as ‘farm’ on their website. But we’ve done some sniffing around and we uncovered some completely different meaning. More of which later.
Last up is ‘I ett hus i skogens slut’ which we are led to believe means ‘in the forest‘ but we know better. Both of these fabrics are in fact, the titles from Swedish nursery rhymes. They are super duper wide at 170cm and are GOTS certified.
And finally, here is what we found when we put Landet, Lilla Snigel into Google. I’m thinking Gareth Malone should get some construction workers to cover this.
WTAF – What the Actual Frock. Oh yeah.
We’ve been busy beavering away on the first line of clothing. It’s nearly ready and will be online for perusal this coming weekend (subject to weather and temperamental models).
Whilst ensconsed in our very own little sweatshop of 2 (me and Dawn), I’ve found that music gets me through the day. I was thinking that when I do my first tute, it will be entitled ‘Sew Along with the Backstreet Boys’. I know Dawn will cry when she sees that – and not with laughter.
So, brand FK is ready to hit you guys between the eyes. The question is; are you ready?
