Luna Boon Hector’s Fund

Slightly off the normal topic of all things fabric, this is a subject very close to my heart.  In case you haven’t seen the recent Twitter posts or media articles, Luna Bliss Boon, daughter of Clint Boon from the Inspiral Carpets (remember the Madchester years?), sadly died after her short battle for life.  She was born more than 3 months prematurely in the same hospital where my own tiny tiddler started out.

Our story, thankfully, has a much happier ending.  Katherine was also born at 24 weeks and will be 4 next month and is just as good  as, if not better in my very biased opinion, than her peers.  We are forever endebted to the help and specialist care she received in the NICU at Royal Manchester Childrens’ Hospital or St Mary’s Hospital as it was then.

The Boon family are all doing their bit to raise awareness and raise some money at the same time.  Their son, Hector, has had his hair cut for the first time in 5 years and you can sponsor Hector here.  If you’d like some lush jewellery and have the great feeling of giving to a worthy cause, then how about this fab bit of bling?  All proceeds again, to RMCH.
